Up for auction is a set of 6 PROOF coins from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland minted by The Royal Mint. This 6 coin set is a 1971 Proof Set that contains some of the first examples of the new coinage. In 1971 the United Kingdom adopted a decimal coinage system. The coins featured in this proof set are of different denominations and metal content. The coins in this set include: Half Penny, One Penny, 2 Pence, 5 Pence, 10 Pence and 50 Pence. Comes in the original packaging with an outer envelope box. Outer envelope packaging has edge or corner dings noted and the one side with the writing looks to have damage in the lower right corner noted as well. Has creases or deep dent places showing on the enclosure side noted. Plastic case they're in has some surface scuffs and spots noted. Coins look good with all showing some toning or hazing either on the obverse or reverse or both. The winning bidder will receive the set as shown in the pictures provided.
