Description
Up for sale out of my fathers (now mine) collection is this bayonet. I 'was told' this is a Dutch (Netherlands) bayonet circa 1895, made in Germany by Alcoso
(BUT NOT A GUARANTEE). Oddly I can't seem to find any photos showing this simple blade variation. Please do your own research.
The blade measures 11.0" from tip to guard and approx 7/8" in width and the guard.
Overall she is in nice shape (for her age and prob having seen trench battle) in my opinion showing moderate oxidization on the steel. And still has the ORIGINAL frog / scabbard! Which may be worth more than the bayonet lol?!
NOTE the worse part is that the hilt to rifle button mechanism is seized. But possible could be freed with work?
Thanks for looking! :)
