    Description

Chicago's Busy Day-- Beginning Preparations for the Great Fair
(Americana / American Life / World's Fair / Anarchists / Terrorism / Social Revolutionaries / Ladies Cross Stitching / Lifestyle / Political Cartoon / Commercialism / Race Horsing).
Issued 1891, New York, by Puck. Art by Frederick Burr Opper.
Interesting and very scarce original late-19th century color lithographed printed sheet. Issued in a now rare political satire and social commentary weekly periodical which was known for it's provacative artwork, strongly opinionated commentary and excellent commercial artists.
Sheet remains clean. Text or illustrated advertising found on reverse, as issued.
This is an original printed sheet from this scarce 19th century American illustrated political periodical. Thus, it has printing on the back. Basically, this is the only way this image can be acquired today, other than perhaps as a modern imitation reprint using new processes on new paper with new colors that will have none of the age patina or unique visual authenticity inherent in this color lithographed newsprint sheet printed well over 100 years ago.
    Sheet measures c. 9 5/8" H x  12 7/8" W.
    [QT293].
    Guaranteed authentic - old.
We do not sell modern reprints.
