  • Condition: Jar is in very good vintage condition. No chips, cracks or repairs. There's a white scuff mark and some paint adhered to the bottom of the vessel. I believe the scuff and the paint will come off with issue if the proper cleaning technique is used. There's some reside build up towards the base of the pot.     Description

    Nice San Ildefonso pot by Desideria Montoya Sanchez.  Sister of Maria Martinez,
    Desideria Montoya Sanchez was an excellent potter.
    Pot measure's approximately 5.5" W x 3.5" H.
    This piece was acquired from an estate sale in Raleigh, North Carolina.  The pot has an interesting provenance.  According to the note found in the vessel, this pot was a gifted to the Prestons by Native American ambassador Mary Stone "Ataloa" McClendon during a speaking engagement at Shorter College in Rome, Georgia.
