    Original steel plate stipple engraving of the Civil War Major General by John Chester Buttre c. 1866.  The engraving measures 8" x 10.75".
    Israel Bush Richardson (1815 – 1862) was a United States General who fought in the Mexican-American War and the Civil War, where he was a Major General in the Union Army. Nicknamed "Fighting Dick" for his prowess on the battlefield, he was mortally wounded at the Battle of Antietam.
