    Description

For bid is an original 1864 chrimolithograph print on the SLATTERLEE United States GENERAL HOSPITAL located in Western Philadelphia, Pennsylvania during the Civil War. Outstanding color lithograph produced by the legendary Civil War print lithographer Charles Mingus of New York. Large, striking image of a very important Union Army hospital made up of buildings and dozens of rows of tents. Several dozen soldiers are visible in the image bivouacked near the hospital grounds. Civilians and nurses are also visible in great detail! The print is currently framed, but I am planning on sending it rolled, unless the winning bidder wants to make other arrangements. Shipping in the frame will be very expensive! This is a terrific print from circa 1864-1865. Image was published by James D. Gray, Publisher of Philadelphia. Outstanding with some light visible fixing. No major problems that I see. Purchased as framed. Frame dates from circa 1970’s by the Philadelphia Print Shop. Really great piece of American Civil War visual history. The area of the print visible within the matted area currently measures
