    Description

This is a framed Civil War sketch from an old period newspaper showing the Union Army raiding a farm foraging for food at the owner's expense. The print is entirely hand painted being very bright and clean.  The matt in the frame covers the lettering at the bottom of the sketch, some of the top parts of the letters are exposed.  These drawings were produced by Civil War artists who worked for popular newspapers covering the war. The art measures 8 by 9 1/4 inches. The full measurement from frame edge to frame edge measures 12 1/2 by 14 inches. The frame is a beautiful wood with fancy boarder.  This is a beautiful piece showing a wonderful chaotic scene having soldiers and animals and birds scattering in every direction. The owner and her daughter can be seen in the log cabin.  The back is covered in paper and comes with a hanging wire. This is a great piece of Civil War art.
