    Description

    Offered here is an original, very rare, 1866 published steel engraving.  It measures 5 3/4" x 9 3/8" overall and 5 1/8" x 7 5/8" image size
    .  "President New Members of Cabinet & Others" has the engraved images of President Johnson and officials making the transition after the assassination of Abraham Lincoln as the Civil War was ending.  I
    mprinted
    below the images is "Eng[rave]d by G.R. Hall" and in part "Entered according to act of Congress AD 1866 by C.D. Case & Co..."
    This engraving was rescued from a falling-apart edition of
    The American Conflict: A History of the Great Rebellion in the United States of America 1860-'65
    by Horace Greeley.
    The images are almost appear photographic.
