100% Original and Authentic, U.S. Marine Corps Rifle "Sharpshooter" marksmanship Badge made by the Charles M. Robbins Co (CMR makers mark). Created in 1892, the "Charles M. Robbins Co." was the predecessor to the famous insignia manufacturer "Robbins Co." that was so popular for their badges and wings in WWI and WWII. The CMR hallmar was used from 1892 until the early 1920's.  This Badge is from the 1910's, and has a somewhat crude, hand engraving from the original owner on the reverse that appears to have initials and "18" presumably for 1918. Both pieces are Sterling, and the both are marked by CMR. This is an outstanding example of a very scarce rifle badge variety, and is in exceptional condition as shown.
