VINTAGE 50s MID CENTURY PLASTONE'S HOT-N-COLD PROTO "THERMOS"- MASON JAR INSIDE!

is for an example of the very first "thermos" I ever remember our family having:  This is the "PLASTONE'S HOT-N-COLD", which actually uses a MASON JAR as its inner glass "envelope", with an outer plastic shell, with a unique pouring spout cover and cup/lid. There is foil around the mason jar, and originally there was a sort of "rock wool"-type insulation between the foil-covered jar and the plastic shell.  I have not opened this one, so not sure if it still has its insulation.
This one is in butter-yellow and red, a kitchen color combo that has stuck with me my whole life.
One like this is what I would pour my "ice water" from when I was from toddler age to about 6 years old (late'50s-early '60s).  Ours went away in a garage sale long ago; I never saw any other thermos like this again until about 15 years ago when I found this example at one of our favorite shops in Austin.  You bet I snapped it up for nostalgia/display purposes.  Now it's time for it to go to someone else.
