Vintage WWI Princess Mary Brass Christmas Box!
This brass box is The Princess Mary 1914 Christmas Box. The box measures about 5 1/8" x 3 3/8" x 1 1/8". Although I believe it to be original, I do not know the provenance of the piece. Although it is hard to see in the photos, the box is shiny, with some discoloration to the outside and the inside, and some wear, with the corner where Monte Negro is being pushed in a bit. The lid is heavier than the base, and while it closes, it doesn't stay closed if you turn it upside down. When I bought the box, it came with a printout of the history of the Princess Mary Christmas box.
