Up for sale from my own personal collection is what I've been told this is a World War 1 (WW1) Field Officers Telephone. This hefty little bugger is a good solid 25+ lbs. You thought the first cell phone in the 1980s was big? Check this awesome piece of history out... From what I've been told this is a field officers telephone. There is a number on the top middle inside part where the hinges are. The number reads D 43793. There is no telephone receiver. It was not included when I bought this neat slice of history. The wooden case is extremely sturdy and beautifully dovetailed. The corners are encased in metal with very simplistic yet decorative functional corners. The handle is original. The leather is still supple, is not dry or cracking in any way. Every single thing on this box is 100% completely original. All hardware, screws, latch, handle, corners, internal components, crank and motor. Though, I will tell you that if you touch the cables together while holding them, and turn the crank, you will get shocked. I highly recommend people don't do that, I made the mistake of thinking that it wasn't going to work. I played the guinea pig and tried it. I was wrong. This little box puts out o me hell of a shock. It has a good bit of juice left in it😉. I have never had the motor part of the box opened but from what I was told it is a very primitive crank motor. More than likely a copper Tesla style primitive crank motor. I was afraid to take that part off because all the screws are original also. I didn't want to mess with that. I leave that up to the buyer. All I know is what I have been told, by more than one person. I came across this at an auction and I never even looked in the box. When I did, it was really exciting. Any military lover, telephone collector, or someone who may like old wooden boxes with neat metal corners (That's why I originally bought it). It is just in need of a good new home. If anyone has any more information on this, I am always willing to listen and learn😁. There may have been a wooden ball on the end of the crank. I'm not sure if there was one, just in case if there was, I always like people to know.... The measurements are approximately 13 1/2 in long x 14 in tall and 5 1/2in deep.
*I am selling my precious toys because of one thing. I have to sadly raise money for a surgery that I desperately need. 10 yrs. ago I was 21, I was in a severe car accident. The mind-numbing medical problems have plagued me to this very day... My seatbelt never caught and airbags never deployed, my face went completely into the steering wheel. If you would like to read my full story and see pictures, I have a go fund me page (it's under my name Helen Evangeliste or
    gf.me/u/tq9tab

Nobody understands how great a gift that is till they're in this situation. A surgery just became available that may be able to help me cut my pain, nerve damage and migraines by up to 80%! After 10 years of gut-wrenching every day non-stop pain, migraines and seizures, would you not take that risk? If your pain and suffering could be diminished by up to 80%?
