    This is the "large" version of this badge that dates it to the WW1 era (they became smaller towards WW2) and the single pronged version which was the more common at that time.
    These were made from the founding of the organization through the 1920s at which time they were transformed to the smaller versions (the small pronged back was made from the 1920s through the 1930s and the small pin backed badge was officially implemented as part of the 1940 rules and regulations, but dated as early as 1936). This badge was for the Imperial Veteran Soldier League Association which was founded in 1910 with the role of improving the military's effectiveness after the 1894-95 Sino-Japanese war and the 1904-05 Russo-Japanese war.
