Here’s what you need to buy before Dollar Tree hikes up prices this year

Dollar Tree is getting ready to hike up its prices this year – and yes, they will be higher than $1.
In a recent statement, Dollar Tree CEO Rick Dreiling said that prices at the store will now rise to around $1.50 on average and cap at around $7 for higher-priced items.
Dreiling said the price increase will allow the company to offer a wider assortment of products, but it might defeat the purpose of a “dollar store.”
Here’s what to buy before the price increase hits.

Buying everyday essentials such as household basics and technology products is a necessity before Dollar Tree raises its prices.
Items such as LED light bulbs or eco-friendly cleaning products are important to stock up on while you can.
Sarib Rehman, CEO of Flipcost.com, said to MSN: “These items not only represent long-term savings due to their durability and efficiency but are also subject to market trends that could see prices spike based on raw material availability or increased demand.”

It’s also a good idea to focus on buying nonperishable goods that you regularly use.
Items such as cleaning supplies, personal hygiene products like toothpaste and soap, and basic office supplies offer long-term value because they don’t expire and will always be needed.
In addition, Dollar Tree has hinted that these types of products will be on the price increase list.
Durable goods may also face a potential increase due to logistic or manufacturing costs.
Rehman said: “Kitchen utensils, storage containers, or even basic apparel items made from sustainable materials might see a price change. Drawing parallels from e-commerce, where sudden shifts in shipping costs can impact product pricing overnight, these items represent wise investments before Dollar Tree’s price adjustment takes effect.”
Experts have said that stockpiling on staple items such as canned and dry foods is smart before the price hike.
Josh Newman, founder of Chummy Tees, said to MSN: “Canned goods like vegetables and beans will retain freshness for seasons and offer flexibility. Likewise, dry ingredients like pasta and rice are nourishing and versatile – perfect for your pantry collection. Don’t forget our munchie loves too. While supplies last, gather your beloved chips, nuts, and snacks to munch through murkier markets.”
It’s not a bad idea to stock up on food for pets, too.
Newman said: “Take this opportunity to hoard extra sacks of kibble and crunchy treats, and be sure to corral their favorite toys too so our pets stay entertained no matter the monetary mayhem. Knowing these items are funded will offer future peace of mind.”
